Clothes washers and ecological effect Paper Clothes washers are second just to toilets as the biggest water clients in the home, representing 14 percent of family unit water use. Family water utilization significantly affects amphibian life, particularly when water supplies originate from freshwater lakes and streams. The ROI Grander, as of late named one of the World Wildlife Funds Top 10 Rivers at Risk, has been blown up to such an extent that saltwater from the Gulf of Mexico has started moving upstream and jeopardizing local species. O far, 32 Of he waterways 121 local species have been dislodged because of expanded saltiness. Much the same as the ROI Grander, city water supplies are surrendering to saltwater interruption, which happens when expanded siphoning of groundwater permits saltwater pools to invade freshwater supplies, making water unfit for human use. Accordingly, urban communities are introducing vitality serious desalination plants, which require increasingly petroleum product inferred power that, thusly, adds to a dangerous atmospheric devation. Until now, desalination plants can be found in an ewe states and a few nations. Vitality Issues Keeping clothes washers running likewise requires a lot of petroleum derivative provided vitality that, thus, radiates around 1 60 pounds of the green house gas carbon dioxide (CA) every year per machine. Tips and Tricks for a More Regenerative Sleep

Tips and Tricks for a More Regenerative Sleep How did you sleep last night? We don’t always even need to hear an answer to this question before we know it. Sometimes a glance into a person’s face tells it all â€" they look rugged and groggy.Yet, after a good night’s sleep we can look very different as well â€" our faces lit up and we almost look younger. This isn’t a trick either, as sleep has powerful regenerative qualities and I’m about to let you in on the secrets of getting a more regenerative sleep. WHY YOU NEED A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP?Before I delve into the secrets of a good regenerative sleep, the focus should be on the most essential questions of all: Why does any of this matter? Knowing how much benefits there are to sleep can help you make long lasting and effective chances. You truly start understanding why the following tricks are worth trying out and what you gain for sticking with them even if they seem silly at first.Mental benefitsPerhaps the most crucial changes you’ll start seeing as you start sleeping better are in terms of your mental wellbeing. Regenerative sleep will help you feel better and boost your mind’s capacity to operate. A study in 2002 looked at the impact sleep has on training in terms of motor skills. The study found that a good night’s sleep improved motor skills by 20%, while being awake had no significant increase to performance. Furthermore, the study highlighted the importance of the regenerative stages of sleep, which we’ll outline in t he next section. According to the data, there was a significant correlation between improvement in motor skills and the amount of sleep the person got during the second stage. In effect, by guaranteeing you sleep soundly, you can improve how your body is able to learn and adjust to new circumstances. In addition to boost in learning, a good sleep is beneficial in your ability to solve problems. In a separate study, published in Nature in 2004, scientists found sleep to be crucial for restructuring new memory representations. This in turn was found to improve the person’s ability to solve complex problems. According to the study, you can boost your chances of gaining new insight and ideas to problems simply by sleeping eight hours. So, next time you encounter a problem, you should just explore it for a while and then have a good, long sleep. Once you wake up, you might just have a solution for your problems. There’s plenty of truth in the saying, “Let’s sleep on it”.How does all of the above relate to mental wellbeing? Well, by being able to solve problems and learn new skills, you are essentially removing certain stresses away from your vicinity. You improve your ability to encounter tough challenges and to get over them without them turning into a huge problem in your mind.Physical benefitsBut it’s not just that sleep relaxes you and helps you gain perspective and knowledge, your body will benefit from a good night sleep as well. Stress has been shown to cause problems in skin health and its youthfulness. By reducing stress, through regenerative sleep, you can also improve your skin’s health and not just feel more radiant, but also look the part. Testosterone production also increases when you are sleeping well. In other studies, low testosterone in men has been linked to sleep apnoea and its harmful effects and by improving your sleep, you can prevent these problems occurring.Furthermore, sleeping well could even help you lose weight and to main tain a slimmer body. This is because lack of sleep has been linked with unbalanced insulin secretion, which is one cause of obesity. You can probably relate to this point easily, as we’ve all experienced those tired moments when McDonald’s always seems a better idea to a salad bowl. Finally, but by no means least important, the physical benefit of proper sleep could reduce your risk of cancer. Sleep is strongly shown to boost healthy cell division, which is crucial for fighting and preventing cancerous cells. Furthermore, the same study noted how irregular and insufficient sleep patters could cause abnormal metabolism, which can increase problems with your heart health as well. One study of professional basketball players actually looked at the overarching benefits of quality sleep. The researchers found a clear link between better athletic performance and enhanced sleep. The players reported they had more energy and felt less fatigued during and after games. In fact, they didn†™t just say the performance was better, but the mood improved as well. Sleep and its importance have become a big talking point in the past few years. If you need more convincing of its benefits, listen to this interview with Arianna Huffington. THE DIFFERENT STAGES OF SLEEPI mentioned the importance of stage three and four in the previous section. That’s correct, sleep isn’t just sleep from the moment you fall asleep to the time you wake up. In between, you go through four different stages, all of which are important, yet some of which have a crucial role in regenerative sleep. During the night, your body will cycle through the following stages:The stage of sleepWhat happens during this stage?N1You feel almost half asleep during this stage and it’s the moment where you are still somewhat aware of your surroundings, but when you start slowly losing this awareness. Often during N1, your body can make involuntary movements and you might feel your legs or arms jerking and twitchi ng.N2The N2 is the slightly deeper stage of N1 and it’s when you lose your awareness of the surroundings. You aren’t still fully immersed in sleep, but more or less unaware of what is happening around you. This stage actually takes up most of your nightly sleep, as it’s roughly 50% of total sleep time.N3In the third stage of sleep you are in a state of deep. Your body’s core temperature sets at this point and you are producing melatonin at a higher rate. During this stage, your muscles are fully relaxed and you are in a regenerative sleep. The mind and the body are regenerating and recovering from the day’s events. The stage doesn’t last too long and it cycles you to the most productive part of the different sleep cycles: REM.REMThe final stage, although it doesn’t mean it’s the last stage you sleep in, as these four keep cycling, is the REM or Rapid Eye Movement stage. When you are dreaming, you are in the REM stage. Interestingly, REM stage only takes around a quar ter of our nightly sleep, but it is, together with N3, the most important part of getting a good night’s sleep and gaining the above benefits. So, during the night your body will cycle between the two stages. The most important thing is to guarantee you sleep uninterrupted, so that you can reach the REM stage. You should enter this regenerative state at least once a night, although twice would be optimal. If you are interested in the stages and especially the REM state, you should check out the video below. THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF REGENERATIVE SLEEPHow can you guarantee you maximize the benefits and enjoy regenerative sleep each night? There are a few essential building blocks to regenerative sleep and I’ll look at these along with some tips on how to achieve them before providing you a few extra tricks to keep up your sleeve when sleeping become an issue.Solid sleeping environmentUnsurprisingly perhaps, the most crucial factor for good sleep is the environment in which you sleep in. If you think about the best sleep you’ve ever had, you probably didn’t sleep in a fully crowded departures lounge or on the office floor? To guarantee a solid sleeping environment, you need to focus on a few key elements. These include:Proper mattressYour mattress has a huge impact on how well you sleep. Pick the wrong type of mattress and you’ll be tossing and turning all night long. Remember, the right kind doesn’t mean the softest is always the best. We tend to have preferences in the softness of mattress, with some of us loving a sturdier mattress and others avoiding those as much as possible. When it comes to mattress type, the key is to test what suits you the best and to change the mattress regularly (Sleep Train recommends changing it every 7 years). Below is an image to help you when shopping for mattresses. Source and Copyrights: SoundBord.coThe right room temperature and noise controlAfter mattress, your focus should shift to the room temperature and its noisiness. First, if you go and check your bedroom’s room temperature, I’m almost certain it’s set too high. This is not because you have made a huge mistake, but because most of us make this critical error of warming our bedroom too much. Our intuition tends to tell us that warmer is better and cosier. While you shouldn’t be moving to an igloo, you will sleep well simply by turning down the room temperature a notch. The Wall Street Journal reported on the latest research on the subject and concluded that science shows the ideal temperature to be 65 Fahrenheit or around 18 Celsius. Keeping the room relatively chilly and then nestling in under thick, comforting blankets will feel amazingly soothing â€" just try it.In terms of sound, you would want to limit the noise levels. Since you can’t stop the outside world when you sleep, you should try white noise. It can block out background noise and it helps your body to relax. You can find white noise sleeping apps online â€" Sleep Genius is a useful app to consider if the noises are your sleeping kryptonite.Fresh airFinally, your sleeping environment should focus on the quality of air inside the room. You should plant a few plants to help in the production of fresh air. Jasmine can help reduce anxiety, according to a study and can therefore be helpful in nurturing your sleep.Aloe Vera emits oxygen at nighttime, guaranteeing plenty of fresh air in the room while you are sleeping. Above all, remember to regularly clean the bedroom and to open the air to allow fresh air to flow across the room.Effective sleeping habitsThe above tips help you optimize your sleeping environment, but you also need proper sleeping habits for regenerative sleep. The effective habits are surprisingly easy to follow and you won’t need to start changing your whole life around. You need to focus on two key habits: a sleeping schedule and your eating and drinking habits. In terms of schedule, you should create a solid sleeping routine. If you go to bed at 11pm on one day, 8pm the next and 3am on certain days, you keep your body guessing and it therefore doesn’t know when to relax. You must keep to your body’s circadian rhythm, which is the natural sleep-wake cycle. Stick to a regular sleeping time as much as you can. Choose a time when you are naturally tired (try to make it before 10pm) and ditch the alarm clock.OK, that might cause alarm bells to ring in your head, but the truth of the matter is: if you are sleeping enough, you don’t need an alarm. If you are not willing to sleep fully without a clock, get one that adjusts to your sleep stages and wakes you up at a time when you are already alert. To ensure you aren’t like a walking zombie each morning, increase your exposure to sunlight as soon as you get up.Go stand in the balcony, or front yard for a fe w second to bask in the sun â€" it doesn’t even need to be fully sunny; you just need plenty of natural light. If it is actually dark outside when you wake up, you can purchase a natural light lamp. These are great for improving your mood and helping you sleep better. Light exposure is not only crucial in the morning.Your body starts preparing for sleep as soon as the sun goes down, because the lack of this natural light sends a signal to your body to start producing more melatonin. As this happens, you become drowsier. This is exactly why you want to try follow the natural sleeping pattern. But it also means that if you are in a brightly lit environment late at night or are exposed to superficial light, you might find it hard to fall asleep. You should also adjust your sleep and eating routines before bedtime. Proper hydration is essential for ensuring a good night’s sleep. So, you should try to increase your water intake throughout the day, although you want to avoid drinking r ight before bedtime. Being adequately hydrated will also help with the other part of the equation: eating habits. If you are adequately dehydrated and you drink enough water, you won’t feel that false sense of hunger as often and therefore reach out to a box of biscuits. If you overeat three to four hours before sleep, your regenerative hormones won’t generate as efficiently. Your pancreas and liver are still trying to digest the meal, instead of releasing these regenerative hormones and helping your body to recover and rejuvenate. You definitely don’t want to leave the biggest meal of your day to just a few hours before you try to sleep. If you want to eat something before sleep (an hour or so), you should add the following on the menu:Fresh fruit, like banana and applesVegetables, such as broccoli or green beansA broth soupYou should also start monitoring the effect caffeine has on your body. If you continue having trouble sleeping, you should check whether drinking caffeinat ed drinks (coffee, soda, or tea) has an impact and start leaving a bigger gap between sleeping and drinking them. Other supplements and chemicals you want to avoid enjoying close to sleep include: alcohol, nicotine and food preservatives.Good control of stress levelsFinally, regenerative sleep requires a good control of your stress levels. The inconvenient truth is that if you are always stressed, you won’t be able to sleep soundly. You need to find a way to reduce your stress overall and especially the feeling of anxiety and stress as the night draws closer. So, what is the best way to control stress? There are two simple solutions to this age-old problem: proper exercise and meditation for stress management.Exercise releases hormones in your body and these hormones can help fight stress in a few different ways. First, you strengthen your body and its immune system. This helps you become stronger and your immune system to withstand more stress. The healthier you are, the less neg ative effect being busy can have on your body.Furthermore, the hormones promote the healthy functioning of your body, boosting your melatonin production and helping you sleep better at night. So, if you are stressed and your sleep is not solid, you should start exercising more. Just remember, you don’t want to exercise right before bedtime. Exercise increased adrenaline production; meaning you might be lying in bed super excited about your newfound energy boost after the jog! Try adding some exercise to your morning or afternoon routines. You can also control stress through meditation. You want to use meditation and relaxing techniques to calm your mind and prepare your body for rest. The Internet has plenty of great guides to meditating and relaxing. For example, I found the below video helpful when I started meditating. There are a few easy ways to feel calmer. These rituals are not necessarily as effective as meditating, but the rituals can help take your mind off from the daily stresses and help you slow down to a different rhythm after a long day. So, before bedtime, you could:Read a happy or positive book in soft light.Listen to relaxing music while lying down in darkly lit room.Stretch your body gently.Dim the lights around the house and prepare your To Do-list for the next day. TRICKS TO SLEEPING BETTERThe above provide you the basic building blocks required for a good night sleep. They are the essential tips to follow if you want to enjoy from regenerative sleep. But if you’d like to enhance the impact of sleep and ensure you rest well each night, you should consider the below tricks as well.Take time to worryAs I said above, stress can be a huge block for sleeping well. When you have a lot on your plate, it can be hard to just simply relaxing and putting your worries aside. Therefore, an unconventional, but highly effective trick is to take time to worry. Yes, you read that right. You should pick a moment and just spend all your energy thinking ab out the things that bother you.Does it sound a bit masochistic? It shouldn’t scare you because the technique can help you feel more relaxed and to help you sleep more peacefully. And if you remember, one of the mental benefits of sleep was enhanced problem solving, so you might just fix your problems asleep with the technique. What do you need to do? Get a pen and paper and choose a specific 15-minute period for worrying. This can be anytime of the day, just not the last thing you do before sleeping. Set an alarm clock for 15-minutes and start worrying. Write each one of them down on paper, either in words or images. Be specific and let it all out, no matter how miniscule. After time is up, take a few deep breaths and stop thinking about the worries. This can help you sleep easier and make you realize some of those worries might not be worth worrying about.Use essential oils and supplementsIf you are having real trouble sleeping, you might find help in essential oils and supplement s. There are natural products that can aid in the production of melatonin and which make it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep. The actual science behind many essential oils and supplements is not conclusive, but it doesn’t hurt to try. You might find these products helpful and that is all that matters, not whether they are backed by proper studies. In terms of essential oils, the recommended mixtures include:JasmineLavenderNeroliChamomileMarjoramUse the essential oils either on your body or in the room. You can burn a scented candle before sleeping or get a diffuser to use in the room. You can dilute some of the mixture with water and gently rub it in on your feet and palms. The rubbing sensation can calm you down and the essential oils can help relax your body. You could also opt for supplements. WebMD recommends using valerian, which is an herbal supplement. The herb is gathered from the root of a perennial flower. The image below shows how to start using the product and the d ifferent ways the supplement can be taken. Source and Copyrights: Dr Axe websiteConsider powernappingThis next trick might seem a little counterintuitive. If you browse sleeping tips online, you are sure to find tons of them telling you to stop napping. But I’ll try to convince you of the opposite: powernapping regularly to sleep better at night. A light nap during the day can help you sleep better at night because it ensures you aren’t overtired when night comes. The key to a good napping that doesn’t disrupt your normal sleeping cycle is to:Nap during the early afternoon. You ideally want to take your nap around an hour after you’ve had lunch, as it’s the right time for your body to feel naturally a little drowsy. The early afternoon is also enough removed from the actual bedtime to ensure you don’t have a problem falling asleep at night.Keep your naps short. You should be power napping, which means sleeping just enough to feel refreshed, but not long enough to feel groggy when you wake up and have trouble falli ng asleep later. You just need 10 to 20 minutes of napping and you are good to go. Anything longer and you probably start finding napping to have a negative impact on your sleep.Stick to a schedule. Just as you should do with the regular sleeping, napping should be about keeping to a schedule. The regular schedule makes you fall asleep faster, helping you to gain the benefits of power napping. Your body will start regulating itself and go into the ‘sleep’-mode as your naptime approaches.Exercise intenselyAnother point I mentioned as a building block to regenerative sleep was exercise and its ability to control stress. With the help of regular exercise routine, you can improve the amount your body spends in the restorative sleep stage. But you can take the benefits to a next level by increasing the vigor in which you exercise. The more vigorously you exercise, the better your sleep will become. When I talk about intensive and vigorous exercise, I’m referring to two key pointers. First, your exercise should be vigorous in terms of getting your heart rate beating faster. This generally means short bursts of intensive exercise instead of calmer, longer forms such as yoga or weight lifting. Instead, you want to take a 10-minute brisk walk, add a short sprint to your regular run or go swim at full speed. The second point is about adjusting the intensity to your needs. A brisk 10-minute walk might not be able to get you worked up, even if it makes my heart race. The key is to find an exercise burst that is vigorous according to your current skill level. So, it might just be an intensive 15-minute run or perhaps swimming two full lengths of exercise works the best for you.Remember that as you start exercising regularly, your body might improve in fitness and strengths â€" if this happens, it’s time to turn up the volume and pick something more vigorous.Eliminate sources of EMFFinally, you should consider eliminating all sources of EMF from the bedroom and avoid using the products that emit these close to your bedroom. EMF, what? EMF stands for electro-magnetic field, which are emitted by most technology products from your smartphone to your electronic toothbrush. Although the studies on the effect of EMF and sleep are inconclusive and further investigation is needed, you might be a Highly Sensitive Person and find these fields disturbing. Therefore, you would want to remove all extra EMFs from your bedroom, especially as the night settles.Even if you don’t find a direct impact of EMFs on your sleep, having technology in the bedroom can be disruptive â€" it can keep you hooked on watching things or browsing the web when you should be sleeping. Therefore, your smartphone and laptop should not have a room in the bedroom and you definitely want to start enforcing a rule that prevents you from using them an hour before your bedtime.FINAL THOUGHTSRegenerative sleep is crucial for your mental and physical wellbeing. It helps you stay active, he althy and full of energy, boosting your mood and keeping you happy. Without proper regenerative sleep at nights, you put yourself under higher risk of illness and injury and speed up your body’s aging process.I’ve outlined the core building blocks you need to focus on in order to sleep well at night. It’s about creating the appropriate space for sleeping, reducing distractions and finding inner peace before you place your head on the pillow. But regenerative sleep goes beyond just having the right environment and feeling happy; the things you drink and eat, and even think, can have an impact on how well your body regenerates cells and rejuvenates at night. So, test the above tricks and find the ones that work for you, as we aren’t all the same. And don’t give up! Some of the habits and tips above will need a continuous application for weeks and even months before you’ll start seeing the benefits of a more regenerative sleep.

Hobbes believes that individuals are free to use their mental and physical capacities to do what is essential to conserve their lives in the state of nature (Cambridge, 2007). This right deems to permit individuals to even take the lives of others if such action is necessary to preserve their own lives. Hobbes philosophy on the state of human nature when faced with competition, desire for position and power is that it leads to situations of severe conflict and irrational decisions. Thus, Hobbes may have decided to hire Mr. Craft with the notion of not faulting him for acting the way human nature was designed. Kant’s Response Kant’s perception on the ethical dilemma would have been differed in contrast to Hobbes’s. Kant believes that we should act out of moral duty, and use the principles of rationalization rather than desire. Kent believes that the desire for any expected consequence or emotional feeling may cause us to act out of inclination, and a desire for a

Wal-Mart Case Free Essays

Wall-Mart Stores During the time of this case, there are multiple organizational capabilities that took place within the continuous growing Wall-Mart stores during 2003 as well as the years that led up to the time of this case. From the beginning of the store and the vision of Sam Walton, he used all of the different criteria for the BRIO framework. Near the beginning of the creation of Wall-Mart, Sam Walton, the founder of Wall- Mart, had many visions and a clear sense of direction he was working with. We will write a custom essay sample on Wal-Mart Case or any similar topic only for you Order Now Some examples of organization he had that put him above the rest was his sense of worth for the employees by calling them associates, and allowing all employees to be able to reach him on his home phone number. This created a sense of a strong company culture within the Wall-Mart community due to the founder’s efforts at communication. He worked on making connections with his employees. This shows a sense of multiple things within the BRIO framework including Value because it portrays a charisma and a personality to the customers by how the company is run and how it treats its employers. A huge part in making the firm valuable in the eyes of consumers includes their slogan, â€Å"everyday low prices†. This is attractive to all consumers because it is the lowest price but yet, comparable to some of Its competitors. Wall-Mart has guaranteed that it is the lowest price because weekly It checks out Its competitors as well such as Smart and Target. This is one of the biggest factors when it comes to Wall-Mart because people shop when it is not only super cheap, but super convenient as well. Being able to have a department store with everything you could need while eater on adding a grocery market section to Wall-Mart raised prices and the number of shoppers there alone. It is convenient because you can go Into one store for almost all of your needs at the lowest price. A resource that is rare that Wall-Mart has Is the way It started up with the distribution which included buying more merchandise directly from the manufacturers. Initially, the scale of operations was a bit modest. After Wall-Mart grew into Superstructures, this was an initial resource and capability that was rare to what other competitors had as well. It grew sales dramatically from what it had initially as mentioned above because of the high convenience and ability to buy all of your needs out In one store. Militantly the form and Idea of buying high-volume at a low merchandising cost, and buying in bulk was so rare in the market and one of its first of its kind. Compared to Smart and Target though, Smart almost failed when trying to keep its prices as low as Wall-Mart. This in fact, leads right up to the point of how costly to imitate Wall-Mart can be when looking at the BRIO framework. To be costly to imitate Wall-Mart used a bit of the other things competitors and others were doing, and Integrated these things Into what Wall-Mart was already it was discussed how Walton would head to other competitors to investigate different options. He would do this for details as even as minuet as how many cars competitors parking lots could fill. There was also room to create the Superstructure as well as ‘Neighborhood Markets’ which are smaller division stores around the suburban areas to create a smaller more relative size to the community. These are to seen with any of the competitors and thus must be harder to imitate since they don’t have the resources. Another source that Wall-Mart has taken the advantage, due to being costly for competitors to imitate over with in the past years around this case, is the ability to extend their hours of operation to some 24 hour Wall-Marts. There are no other department, supermarket, or neighborhood stores that do this because of the cost of keeping the store open. This along with the expansion not only around the U. S. , but also the expansion globally has put Wall-Mart ahead of the rest. Organized to capture value is displayed in multiple different areas when it comes to Wall-Mart. One of them that continued to grow from when the company first started was its investments in information technology. Compared to when it would take months to compare the inventory-taking lags decreased from months, to weeks, to very close to actual time due to the IT transformation. It automatically linked the distribution centers to computers in the stores and suppliers. This helped utilized the firms’ resources and capabilities by being able to maintain a better log of inventory. Other specifics that Wall-Mart does to maintain an organized way to capture value is to put to practice the SOOT analysis. This helps put into perspective what the company has, and perhaps things it could improve on, on a regular basis. One last thing that stuck out to me for this subject was a Balanced Scorecard which is huge within the managing community. For example, this is used often in management to balance financial results, set objects, measures, targets, and initiatives in terms of learning and growth, business process, and lastly, the customers. The last thing that Wall-Mart has done to have more availability to organize the capture value is by making goals, setting plans and executing these plans. Making goals, planning and organizing are all essential in a productive and efficient business as big as Wall-Mart in these days today. Through all of these different steps, Wall-Mart has been and will continue to improve in ways which every growing company should. However, BRIO is definitely something that will help keep the absolute and competitive advantage above all the other competitors and it has since its beginning around the sass’s. Strategic Approach to the Implementation of Quality Distance Learning

Question: Describe about the Strategic Approach to the Implementation of Quality Distance Learning. Answer: Introduction: UMUC haircuts were established in 1995, it was started by Myra Morningstar near the college campus of strip mall. The case study mainly consists of the journey of UMUC haircuts form the one chair shop to the expanded version of it by providing individual parlor facilities to men and women. It provides the scheduling technique of the customer and employee, betterment of the management system for the sake of the organization. Now to improve the marketing strategies the knowledge about the customer needs are very crucial.Evaluation of different IT requirements is explained in the case study with best IT strategy for the business purpose (Fleisher and Bensoussan, 2015). Five force analysis: To develop a good developmental analysis of business the strategy of Porters five forces model gives the five forces which give competition to the business and the relevant strategies to overcome them (E. Dobbs, 2014). Source: (2016) The power of the buyers: The bargaining capabilities of the customers is quite high in case of UMUC. This creates a pressure to the marketing strategies of the organization. Implementation of the programs according loyalty can reduce the buyer capabilities. According to UMUC haircuts the organization should plan some resolving program for the buyer capabilities such as the best technician must be hired at high cost, which create positive impact on the organization. The competitive strategies of Myra is also not disturbed by this approach (Dana, 2012). The power of the supplier: The inputs of the UMUC market sometimes vary with the bargaining capabilities of the supplier. If it becomes very strong then it quite harmful to the organization. For this business purpose the raw elements like scissors, cotton and other beauty products are supplied by a single person then there may not be any alternative way for collection of raw materials, when there are few substitute in the firm. So the firm should be connected with different suppliers (Habib et al., 2015). The more supplier choices one company have, the supplier becomes more powerful. Threat possessed by alternative close substitutes product and services: According to the business perspective, organization should concerned about the facilities available in other parlors. It will benefit to improve the UMUC. Threats may arise if other parlors give more facility than UMUC. So the matter of concern should be concentrated in the improvement strategies of other competitors. To encounter this kind of problem UMUC should invent new ways of attracting customers by adding new technologies to entertain and attract the customers. Threats from the entry barriers: New entries in the market of UMUC can also be the cause of threat to it. As this kind of entrants may sharply affect the profitability index of the UMUC.So UMUC should design the infrastructure work in such a way that other new comers cant compete with them and in other words they are completely blocked. The key technology of the company must be strong enough to restrict the entries of the new companies. Rivalry between the competitors: Rivalry of the competitors measures the competitive nature of the different rival companies. The important part is the efficiency and numbers of the competitors. Few factors influences the rivalry- innovative sustainable advantages, expenses regarding advertisement, and strategy empowering the organizational improvement (Coad andTeruel, 2013). Analysis of the five forces: FORCE EXPLANATION IMPACT AFFECT STRATEGY? BUYER POWER The power of the buyer is quite high according to the posters five forces. Implementation of loyalty programs this can be reduced. Negative Yes SUPPLIER POWER The power of the supplier is high in case of UMUC. Negative Yes THREAT OF SUBSTITUTE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES When there is no substitute for the raw elements of the UMUC, there must be some back up of alternative suppliers. Which will help the company for high profitability index. Positive Yes THREAT OF NEW ENTRANTS The new entries in the market will affect the position of the UMUC. So to make this position sustainable some improvements in the facilities should be there in the organization. Negative Yes RIVALRYAMONG EXISTING COMPETITORS Rivalry among the competitors affect the growth of UMUC. To restrict this loss of productivity for rivalry its better to gain knowledge about the facilities of the rival companies. Negative Yes Justification of selected strategies for competitive advantages: According to the Porters five forces, UMUC has chosen leadership strategy for cost effectiveness. It means the UMUC want to provide various type of facilities to their customers atlower cost than other competitors are providing. By this kind of a approaches UMUC can develop a good platform for the cost effectiveness for the organization by attracting more and more customers by improving the facilities. Now if the strategy chosen for the development of the company judged according to the Porters fiver forces then we can understand the impact of this strategy on the organization. Lower cost of providences the customer power will go down and also it will affect the supplier power as well. If the company get strength properly, then the rivalry and entrants cant change their positions in the market (West et al., 2015). Process related to business: After selecting the proper strategy for UMUC, for further improvements the customer and employee scheduling is applicable in UMUC. This concept of customer employee scheduling helps to increase the interests among the customers about the company, as the company is providing facilities at low cost other than the competitive companies. Which will results into the profitability of the organization. For improvement of the different sectors of the organization, the customers need should be granted, as each customer wants a specific person to do his or her works, the persons are provided freedom to choose their slot of time to serve that customers. But this is very much difficult to allocate them, so there an IT analyst is required to do the scheduling of the customers to their required persons (Rosemann and vomBrocke, 2015). business process analysis and functional requirements Introduction: Generic strategy for competitive advantages: Cost leadership strategy Business process to be improved: improvement of service Background to the stage-2: According to the Walmartstrategy, the total process is explained here- At first when the customer enters the UMUC haircuts customer name is verified with the details present in the UMUC databases. If the customer name is not a new to the database, then the customer is verified with its comfortable person. Then the checking of that person is done, whether he or she is available on that time or not. If he or she is available then that customer is allocated to that person. If that person is not available on that time, then the customer is transferred according to the choice with a second person. But if the customer is new to the UMUC haircuts, then he or she is allocated to the person who may be free at that time (StankeviÄ iÃ…Â «tÄ— et al., 2012). Table of functional requirement: Table of Functional (Business) Requirements Steps in the Appointment Process Process Step Step from Customer Appointment Process Model(insert information from numbered step InputInformation/data item(s) entered into the system as part of this step ProcessProcessing or action the system must perform for this step OutputInformation/data item(s)/record created, or displayed, or printed out for the user in this step 1 Customer Data Name and other essential details of the customer is taken. Verification of the customer data. warm Welcome the customer with wishes. 2 Customer payment Payment mode is verified. If the payment is in cash it processed in normal way and if that is in net banking or online transfer, it can be done by IT technicians by preparing database. Indication to the customer that the payment is done. 3 Customer receipt The customer details with the verification of payment details the receipt is made. The receipt is produced. The receipt is handed over to the customer. Review of the Walmart example: The competitive advantage of the Walmarts strategy is that providence of the product at low cost comparative to the other companies. If the porters five forces theorem is considered, then it can be viewed that, power of the buyer is very much high as the customers have too many various choices. The customers are demanding lowest prices for the products that are why they are looking at the Walmarts theorem. The suppliers of the Walmartshave a little bit of the power as they have the smallest size. This walmarts supplier can provide a huge amount of potential efficiency. The fact about Walmart is that, the suppliers have to follow Walmarts decision about the process related to business and requirements of the technicians. The suppliers feel the pressure for the lower price of the product, which results to lower priced labor markets. The another aspect of the Porters five forces, the threat of the alternative items when there is not substitute for the alternative items, can provide the customers different type of choices for their need. Online applications also provide threats to the suppliers as they are capturing the market entirely by low overhead prices. As the web stores have low overhead prices they can provide the product in low price. The third important aspect of the five forces theorem is that the entrants in the market running online is very high. As low prices are concerned in this scenario, it creates threats to the organizations having same agenda. In the market related to internet, the product cost is low, so there may be threat of cost effectiveness in an organization. Rivalry between two companies affects the productivity of any market. When there is some difference in the profits of two companies, then the size of the walmart controls the threat. According to a company level data analysis, the walmarts sale is much higher than the other companies are. The generic strategy for the advantages related to competition: According to the figure, we can state that, generic strategy related to Walmartis in the left side of the upper quadrant and the market is very broad and giving low cost. The broad market mainly providea large number of customer to the organization, which normalize the buyer power effect on the organization. The lower the cost is the Walmarts cost is affected that much. Walmart mainly use the size of it to make a decrement to the power of the supplier. The two main aspects of the Walmart theorem are- The management technique of the supplier and the activities related to customers (Thompson et al., 2013). The improvement of the business process: To make good amount of profit the Walmarts theorem suggests developing the business process. Here the low cost strategy is used to improve the business process. The individual process needs to be improved should contain its own team. The function of Walmart is to assemble this different team to fulfill their main agendas. The next procedure is to investigate about the process involved in the documentation of team As-Is process. Now this can be done with the help of the low chart or processing diagram. This involves the how this process is going on (Borrego, 2013). Internal and external factors that affects the business process: Internal factors affect the success of the business. In addition, the external factors are the combination of issues that are happening outside the company. The external factors can not be controlled by the organization sometimes. This problem can be solved by controlling the internal factor in the organization; as if the internal functionality is weak then the business organization cant resist itself from the disruptions outside. The example of internal factor is company leadership. Company leadership shows the work culture of the organization and set goals for its betterment. These are the improvement approaches provided by the internal factors to the business organization. Now among the external factors the most important one is the competition or rivalry between the companies. Not only this improve the market value of the products manufactured, but also set interesting goals to the organization aspect. IT requirements The implementation of a new scheduling of web-based application is needed for procuring customer friendliness in current century. The web-based programs will simply require internet service and a computer to access the online application from inside the store. From the store computer, the calling procedure of customers can be manually entered into the online scheduling application. Customers can also book their appointment from their home computer. The emergence of smart phones has also helped to develop the business for UMUC. The technology system was specifically chosen for UMUC haircuts because the cost of implementation and maintenance is relatively lower for them. It requires minimal resources aside from a computer and a local internet connection. Customers can directly open the booking process by clicking on the schedule that has been given by UMUC. There will a calendar in the web system so that, the customers can view the date. They can also see whether the time they have cho sen has another booking or not. The customers can also choose their desired hair style from the list (Hodgkinson-Williams Paskevicius, 2013). Another option will be there that the customers can take the choice of their preferred hair stylist from the list of hair stylist from the web portal of UMUC. The usability and the received services can be ranked to make them more reviewed and acceptable for the customers. Customers can also tell about their experience in the Salon and they can give comments and suggestions to make the business process better for UMUC. The scheduling of web application is a third party hosted application. Therefore, all the maintenance and coding is preferred by third party. N/A will give a no rating. Myra does not have to bother about giving rating every time (Kasser, 2013). Requirement High/Medium/Low importance or Not Applicable N/A Explanation for Ranking Usability High The customers will use a system to make their payments and booking from the system. If the system is complicated for using it would not help them customers. Therefore, the system should be intuitive and easy to navigate (Chan Nowicki Man Mansouri, 2012). Strategy for Competitive Advantage Process Improvement UMUC should identify competitive advantages and they need to improve the whole process. Familiar current process and a team of individuals from different areas are involved in the process. They should not change the current process if that is easy to use for the customers. A change in set up might not help them in positive way. Step by step description of process should be written in the website o that a new user can follow the guideline and book his appointment (Gill, 2013). Strategy for Competitive Advantage: Customer Orientation Process to be improved: Item Return Process IT Requirement Importance/Relevance Explanation for Ranking Usability High The customers will use a system to make their payments and booking from the system. If the system is complicated for using it would not help them customers. Therefore, the system should be intuitive and easy to navigate. Maintainability Low Server related problems, server down sometimes create havoc problems for UMUC Scalability Medium The system must be able to handle an increase in the number of users for returns during peak years. Reliability/ availability NA NA Extensibility NA NA Portability NA NA Security NA NA Data Accuracy Medium The data accuracy is at medium level in UMUC. The data of customers are stored in a very sophisticated manner Data Completeness NA NA Authentication High The log in information will require the greeter to provide specified login information. High level of authentification program has helped UMUC from fraudulently recorded return items ERP, CRM, SCM NA NA Networks NA NA Database NA NA Data warehouse NA NA Data Mining NA NA Business Intelligence medium Business acumen has been at medium level for this company. They have utilized IT service to broader the advantages of business. IT support has some advantages as well as some disadvantages (Tsado Ajayi, 2013). Decision support system High UMUC will use a detection system to evaluate returned items. Data from all haircut outlets can be used to further improve the process. Business to Business e-Commerce NA NA Business to Customer e-Commerce NA NA In this particular case, only a few of the IT considerations can be evaluated. The whole process is unique for the customer return process. This is because of the large transaction processing system (POS) and inventory system. Inventory system is already in use for UMUC. The solution is merely expanding in capability by making the return process portable and increasing the number of returns. The return can be processed at one time with no increase in number of staffs. It is also important to note that some of the areas considered include not just IT system. It included an overall involvement of business process or the physical environment (Alsoliman, 2015). Introduction An overview of the proposed IT solution is provided along with the next steps. Generic Strategy for Competitive Advantage: Business That Need Improvement: Easy Payment Option Proposed IT Solution The solution that will help the salon to manage the customer should have to be very simple. Therefore it is important to not to implement that is complicated, thus the implementation of the cloud-based system should be there in the salon. The cloud computing system that is mainly being operated by the vendors; thus vendor agreement plays an important role here. The cloud-based system will help in carrying out the payment easily and it is not very complicated as well. Thus, both the customers and the front desk employees could use it easily without much problem or hassle. The new system will be operated in Myras salon and for carrying out the operation the salon need the Wifi connection. There are certain programming changes required in this particular project, for the implementation of the cloud-based system (Rabuske, da Costa, da Rosa Righi, Rostirolla, Alberti, Busse Heiss, 2015, January). The cost that is required for programming changes is minimal; this is so because it could be carried out with the existing programming staff as well. Implementation Steps Vendor Agreement: New vendor agreement has to be made because a vendor operates the cloud computing system Cloud offerings like those that of Synaptic Hosting will help in carrying out things like pay-as-you-go, which simplify the payment option (Erl, Puttini Mahmood, 2013). Hardware and Telecommunication: The cloud computing system should be there for those who handle the front desk and the customers. The Wifi connection is essential for the system (Pourghomi Ghinea, 2012). Configuration: There should be programming changes for implanting this cloud-based system (Fernando, Loke Rahayu, 2013). Programming is required for carrying out the operations and at the same time, the algorithm is required to carry out any kinds of credits or payment. The programming staffs, therefore, should be there in the IT department. The presence of sufficient programming staff in the IT department will ensure that the programming changes are being carried out properly. Testing: After there is a completion of the whole system implementation the It department of the salon will test it. After the IT department of the salon has tested it, the front desk employees should test it. It is important that the front desk employee should test it because they are going to carry on the operation daily. The managers of the organization should also test it since the front desk employee will seek the help of these managers when they face any problem. Employee Preparation: The employees of the organization should be made aware of the particular system. The employees should not only be made aware of it but they should be given required training as well. The training that they will receive will help them to carry on operations at a regular basis. Proper training will help them to operate the system easily and thus they would not have to continuously, take the help of the higher-level authority (Beloglazov, Abawajy Buyya, 2012). Thus, it will save time for carrying out the business operations in the salon, which will help in increasing the profit in the business. It will also ensure great deal of customer satisfaction as well. Along with the front desk employees, the mangers should also be provided with proper training as well. The managers of the organization should have a sound knowledge about the whole IT system. Data Migration: The personal data of the customers should be there in the system, to keep the record of the payment history. The payment history is required because it is useful for both the organization and the customers. Both the parties at times need the payment history, and the record will ensure that they are receiving it without any problem. System Use: The front desk employees to carry on the payment transaction at the salon will use the cloud-based system, which is a cloud-based system. The front desk employees should therefore have a sound knowledge about the system. If the employees face any problem in implementing it then they could ask their managers. If the managers fail to provide any answer to the solution then they can seek the help of the It department that is there in the company. The IT department should always have enough skilled staff to provide any answer to the problem faced by the employees, while handling the new system. Maintenance: The maintenance of the new programming system is very essential for smooth working of the organization. Therefore, there should be enough programming staff in the organization. The programming staff will make sure that there is a full maintenance of the cloud-based system at a regular basis. Therefore, there should be a special IT department in the organization. The IT department will ensure that there is enough programming staff in the organization. Conclusion The implementation of the cloud-based system in the UMUC Haircuts will ensure that the customers are handled properly. The organization or the salon needs the system so that the payment or the transactions of payments are carried out smoothly. A complicated technology would made have made the process complicated and it would have increase the customer dissatisfaction. The implementation of this cloud-based system has solved this problem. The system is an intuitive system, and thus both the customers and the employees working in the organization could use it very easily. The simplicity that is there in the organization will increase the customer satisfaction. The result of the increase in customer satisfaction is that there will be an increase in the profit margin as well, since the customer will prefer the salon for its simplicity. The problem that Myra is facing now will be solved easily without much problem. Thus, there will be a growth in her salon or rather in her business. References Alsoliman, B. S.
